Levels & Contents
Level I:
The course is focused on reading and writing and conversation.
After the course, students may:
- Read and write Hebrew, both in print and in cursive, including with and without use of nikud.
- Ask questions and answers.
- Develop and understand sentences in Hebrew to navigate and simple dialogues in the present tense.
- Use tacit verbs.
- Express themselves in present perfect tense.
- Master gender and number and concordances.
- Master the personal pronouns, and demonstrative.
- Acquire a vocabulary of about 500 words.
Module I |
Literacy: Printing - Italic - With and Without nikud (vocal). Personal Pronouns Demostrative Pronouns Gender and Number Part I Prepositions Part I The Word Tacitus. Present tense verbs (following the method of natural language acquisition and conversational purposes) Approximate Vocabulary: 100 words The student will be speaking in Hebrew and short phrases. |
Throughout these three quarterly modules: Thestudent will learn about peculiarities that distinguish Hebrew from his/her mother tongue. He/she will learn reading and writing with and without Massoretic signs, both in print and in cursive. He/she will learn to introduce his/herself and asking for another. He/she can talk about his/her job, studies and his/her country, in Hebrew. Also learning about travel and transport. He/she may express his/herself in the singular, plural, feminine and masculine. He/she will begin to connect nouns and adjectives following the processes related to natural acquisition of the mother tongue. He/she will conjugate some verbs following the same process at the beginning, and then begin to deal thoroughly the structural logic of the Hebrew verbs.
And, learning how to use your PC in Hebrew from the first class. The student will acquire specific vocabulary to ask questions and give answers. Learn how to make reservations for a hotel or restaurant. Through readings in the 3rd module, we will attend to Doron's birthday,watching a conversation between neighbors and helping Jana with gifts that she bought for her trip to Canada. |

> Each module is equivalent to three months of a group course and 1 1/2 months of an intensive course.
> Each level is equivalent to 8-9 months of a group course and four months of an intensive course.
